“This is RO (Romania), not Ukraine”. Apparently, an innocuous graffiti on a playground fence. I photographed it on my way to university in the summer of 2022. The irony is evident. A warning to the growing Ukrainian community in the colours of the Ukrainian flag. Still, one can choose to read it as a message to the Russian aggressor, right? “You will never do here what you did in Ukraine”. The story of this book started there. I had been gathering press releases, editorials and political statements for several months already, having in mind an article about narratives of solidarity, which was published in November 2024 (Cheregi & Ciocea, 2024). A book, however, and very soon after my latest, was a different enterprise.
