This chapter provides a concise discussion of the methodologymethodology, methods, and theoretical frameworkstheoretical frameworks that allow Black women’s voices to be amplified and framed accurately. The chapter begins with a discussion on the epistemological standpoint of this book. In this discussion, there is a quiet but forceful nod to positionalitypositionality. Following this, there will be a brief discussion about the methods chosen, particularly that of the innovative visualvisual methods applied. The chapter will then detail the theoretical framework of the research and book. Starting with Stuart HallStuart Hall‘s invaluable work on race as a floating signifier. A Black Feminist ThoughtBlack Feminist Thought (BFT) approach runs through every aspect of this book and the presentation of the Black women’s voices. Therefore, some of the key thinkers in this area are paid homage to for their important work. Lastly, the chapter draws on the importance of intersectionalityintersectional within this book and why it is so crucial when examining and analysing the experiences of Black women.
