Quality Control in the Automotive Covers Seating Industry: Mechanized Skeleton an Ergonomic and Efficient Solution
摘要
The automotive industry is called upon to face the constant challenges of quality and ergonomics in the production of vehicle cover seats, taking into account that covers are one of the most important elements in the composition of a car, given its functional role and aesthetic appearance. It is in this sense that this article is unique, since it addresses this problem by incorporating an innovative and special solution based on the integration of a mechanized skeleton into the production of automotive seat covers. This technology allows optimizing the quality control by simplifying the operation through the precise simulation of trimming operation, to anticipate and prevent complaints from the end customer, with a simple process of automated closing, opening and rotation movements. This technology allows making visible the defects, previously difficult to detect and escape at the end customer, and therefore official complaints and a degradation of the quality KPI, among these defects: the NOK tension, the irregularities of weaving or sewing, the nuances of colors or the defects of fabrics. In addition, the skeleton improves the ergonomics of operators by reducing physical effort and preventing musculoskeletal disorders. This article will address in the second part a comparative case study before and after implementation in an industrial automotive framework in Morocco for a multinational, whose final product is covers seats. This mechanism of skeleton opens the way to other studies on ergonomic automation on other aspects of the automotive industry, or even implement it in other sectors requiring increased precision and improvement of worker ergonomics.
