Emerging Trends of Smart Supply Chain Management in the Retail Sector: A Systematic Review of Literature
摘要
With the advent of the 4th industrial revolution, driven by Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), Blockchain, and Big Data, Supply Chain Management (SCM) is undergoing a significant transformation in the retail sector. This paper presents a systematic literature review (SLR) to assess the emerging trends in smart SCM, identify key research themes, and establish gaps that would inform future research directions. Eighteen relevant studies were systematically examined to identify meaningful insights and organize their findings. The analysis revealed four key themes: enhancing Supply Chain Security and Forecasting through the use of data-driven technologies; merging consumer-focused approaches with Innovation Management strategies; addressing challenges in emerging SCM trends; and examining the technological drivers behind Retail 4.0. These themes highlight the impact of advanced SCM and Retail 4.0 technologies on operational efficiency and transparency while acknowledging challenges like scalability, interoperability, and inconsistent adoption across regions. The review has offered valuable insights into current trends that could aid practitioners in establishing a foundation for future research. It highlighted the necessity to tackle challenges such as infrastructure limitations and data integration in order to harness the potential of smart SCM in the retail sector.
