Ethnographic Case Study in Higher Education Research
摘要
This chapter introduces the ethnographic case study methodology as an approach to exploring the dynamics within higher education, with a particular focus on international higher education. By integrating the immersive techniques of ethnography with the focused analysis of case studies, this methodology enables researchers to capture both meso- and micro-level interactions and macro-level influences. The chapter uses a detailed example to demonstrate the application of this methodology in examining the impact of globalization on higher education institutions and individual stakeholders. It also discusses emerging themes, methodological innovations, and challenges, and offers insights for future research.
