Between Promise and Pitfalls: Artificial Intelligence and Miscommunication in Literary Writing in Tunisian Higher Education

This article explores the notion of miscommunicationmiscommunication in human-AI interaction, highlighting the challenges and opportunities associated with integrating AI into educationeducation. Adopting a dual utopianutopian and dystopian perspective, it analyses the limitations of AI generative models such as ChatGPT-3ChatGPT-3 and Gemini, notably their lack of transparencytransparency, their algorithmic biases, and their difficulty in modelling complex literary genres.literary genres. These problems often lead to misunderstandings between human users and AI systems, impacting the quality of exchanges and reinforcing a dystopian vision of AI as an opaque and reductive tool. The article proposes concrete solutions to overcome these challenges, in particular through greater AI transparency, explanatory feedbackfeedback functionalities, and a strengthening of AI-human collaboration. The aim is to transform human–machine interaction into a lever for intellectual emancipation and creativity, balancing risksrisks and opportunities for societal well-being.
