Conclusion
摘要
As critical race theory is weaponised by right-wing political movements to foment White resentment over perceived economic and cultural loss, now may not seem like the right moment to point out the limitations of critical race theory of education. However, the exercise of racial power that we are witnessing around the world—depopulation, re-education, state-sanctioned communal violence, genocide—gives us no choice. Critical race theory scholars must continue to rethink this orientation to expand its explanatory and resistive power. It is with this project in mind that the authors of this book set out to re-orient critical race theory of education towards the global and account for the threat that anti-Muslim racism poses to populations living in interconnected geographies around the world such as Palestine, India, Myanmar, and China. Our account urges critical race scholars of education to explain how a world-system, one that is predicated on the elimination of populations that threaten Western notions of rationality and progress, is reproduced through educational systems throughout the world. It gives renewed hope and inspiration to educators throughout the world who are already, and often quietly, engaging transgressive teaching to dismantle the norms, beliefs, standards, and practices that maintain White domination on a global scale. Our book is the beginning of a new, globally-oriented, educational project that is committed to protecting the flourishing of all genres of humanity.
