Legacy Conservatism
摘要
Psychology’s history shows a troubling link to politics, with its ideas often reinforcing conservative social views and justifying stereotypes. Historical concepts, such as those like linking intelligence to race, frequently resurface in modern political rhetoric. Psychology is especially useful to conservative argument because of its stance of individuocentrism, which deflects responsibility for social problems by focusing on individual behaviour over societal factors. As a field dominated by privileged individuals, psychology tends to maintain the status quo rather than challenging it, serving as a tool to uphold, not dismantle, existing power structures.
