A Narrative Analysis of DevOps and DevSecOps Adoption: Impacts, Challenges, and Perspectives for Software Configuration Management
摘要
The use of DevOps and DevSecOps practices, discussing their benefits, issues and implications for managing software configurations on the project and stating that these practices are based on Agile concepts. The main goal is to understand how these methodologies modify software creation processes and improve security approaches in a rapidly changing technological environment. Based on a systematic literature review of the recent literature (2013–2025), including academic and industrial research, the study concludes that DevOps and DevSecOps integration do not only encourage and enhance functional self-information and cross-functionality, but are inherently, as part of agile development, switching the development life cycle to an iterative and adaptive one. What these results have shown is that they are intended to reduce vulnerabilities in the management of development pipelines while improving the delivery capacity of value. However, constraints such as organizational weakness and a lack of specialized skills limit their widespread adoption. In addition, gaps in the available empirical data show that there is a need for more rigorous quantitative empirical research. In conclusion, the study allows to corroborate the results previously obtained, by pointing out that tanto De-vOps como DevSecOps, integrados con los principios ágiles, its sustainability keys and it improves both the efficiency and the security of the software deployment process. She also provides some guidelines for the future research, including the examination of the application of artificial intelligence in DevSecOps practices.
