Measures are proposed to humanize autonomous artificial creatures – programmed agents and robots. In view of rapid development of artificial intelligence, the humanization of robots is called for to secure future harmonious coexistence of humans and intellectual robots. Diversity of objects and purposes, advanced communication capabilities (but with restricted access to the individual’s memory), developed individual consciousness, and broad spectrum of emotions are considered as basic conditions of humanization of artificial creatures. The world of simple programmed agents is taken to illustrate humanization approaches. Methods for humanizing future (presently unavailable) intellectual robots are discussed.
