In recent years, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) have globally been widely applied in various fields, including civil aviation industry. In our country, civil aviation is one of the industries where UAVs are used as rapidly developing technology in several fields. Taking into account the increasing relevance of the application of unmanned aerial vehicles and controlling of surface areas and inspection of infrastructure of the airport, there is an urgent need for optimal selection of programs and improvement methodologies to increase the utilization of the UAVs in perimeter security patrols due to the advancement of automation and performance capabilities, the integration of unmanned systems into the perimeter security system and controlling of UAVs. This, will successfully prevent surveillance personnel from frequently going to the area in response to false alarms, unnecessary fatigue and the control station being empty, and the possibility of real intruders disappearing from the surveillance cameras and posing a threat. In conclusion, the article shows that it is appropriate to integrate UAVs, which combine the advantages of modern technical means and differ in reliability, efficiency, speed and durability, into the perimeter protection system, in order to detect intruders on the airport perimeters in real time and take relevant preventive measures to minimize the damages caused.
