Development of Prospective Methods for Increasing the Reliability of Radar Information in the ATC System
摘要
The article discusses modern methods of increasing the reliability of radar information by preventing interference in ATC radio equipment. The problems of primary and secondary radars are analyzed, taking into account their susceptibility to various types of interference. In particular, the issue of the negative impact of onboard airplane systems on the work of Air Traffic Control (ATC) controllers is examined. It was detected that aircraft (A/C) systems like Airborne Collision Avoidance System (ACAS), ADS-B, and Distance Measuring Equipment (DME), as well as other similar systems, can create interference on the secondary surveillance radars (SSR). The research was made to detect the reason for such interferences. To increase the capabilities of ATC radio devices, existing approaches are reviewed. In addition to them, new methods are proposed both for primary and secondary radars, and a solution to the interference problem is being developed. One of the promising solutions is the use of an additional autonomous receiver in the operating range of the radars under consideration, which will allow preliminary identification of the received signal and then issue a decision for the operation of the radar.
