Fossil fuels used in transport cause global environmental pollution as a result of greenhouse gas emissions. An alternative solution to this problem has been proposed by the use of charge/discharge cycle batteries in electric vehicles (EVs). However, the overheating of these batteries during operation can lead to a reduction in battery lifespan, as well as the occurrence of combustion and explosion events. This study examines the potential of phase change materials (PCMs) as a means of enhancing battery cooling processes.
