A Survey on Flight Controllers Used for UAV Platforms

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV), which were first produced for military purposes and intended to perform reconnaissance and observation missions, have begun to be used in many areas with the developing technology and decreasing costs. Unmanned aerial vehicles are produced with different aerodynamic and structural features for different purposes. These systems are produced in a wide range from drones that can take off and land vertically like helicopters to aircraft that can take off and land like airplanes. Unmanned aerial vehicles have various avionic systems and sensors to perform flight missions. Flight control cards are the primary avionic systems they carry, that is, electronic systems. Flight control cards basically determine the flight characteristics of unmanned aerial vehicles, their efficiency and the features of the tasks they can perform. Flight control cards are expected to mainly perform autonomous or radio-controlled flight tasks. In this study, the basic components and features of unmanned aerial vehicles are explained. At the same time, the basic features and purposes of flight control cards were explained and the flight control cards were compared.
