This work identifies projects, actions, and research in the jewelry sector of the Brazilian Amazon, specifically in the state of Pará, which presents difficulties and opportunities to become environmentally friendly. To face the challenges of environmental sustainability, recent productions bring the use of biodiversity, biomimetic, religious culture, traditional crafts, and research on more sustainable processes and the use of waste and alternative materials. The methodology used was qualitative documentary research— the scope of the study includes the State University of Pará, with its undergraduate course in Design, and the Saint José Liberto Space (ESJL), a place dedicated to studies focused on the jewelry sector. As a result, productions are shown that bring together efforts from artisans, jewelry, goldsmiths, and designers, besides creations that represent Amazonian concepts in their form, material, or content. It also discusses local culture and the importance of environmental sustainability in this sector.
