Self-Directed Learning: Fundamental Principles
摘要
There is a consensus that dental professionals are expected to undertake lifelong learning and must be competent self-directed learners to be successful at this. Self-directedness is not an innate skill and is something that must be taught. Dental teachers have an important role in helping and enabling students to learn how to identify their goals and learning needs. This chapter will explore strategies that dental teachers can use to help learners develop the skills required for self-directedness, with examples that can be utilised in teaching settings.
