In 2012, the Bárány Society and the International Headache Society agreed in a document to establish the diagnostic criteria of vestibular migraine. This is of utmost importance because this entity is currently the most common cause of spontaneous recurrent episodic vertigo, affecting 1–2.7% of the population. The pathophysiology of this disease is still unknown; however, we debate some of the main theories implicated, namely vascular, neurogenic, genetic, and multisensory integration. The treatment of vestibular migraine is also summarized according to its three main weapons: diet and behavioural measures, pharmacotherapy, and vestibular rehabilitation.

摘要
