Introduction
摘要
Best practice care for spine tumor patients is important. Optimal treatment paradigms for spine malignancies are a rapidly evolving landscape as new diagnostic and treatment tools arrive at an ever-increasing pace. Advances in systemic therapy, molecular diagnostics, surgical techniques, interventional procedures, diagnostic imaging, and radiation therapy treatment tools and technologies have exponentially improved outcomes for spine tumors. In addition, new pain management approaches and the skills of rehabilitative medicine need to be incorporated into the treatment plans for the care of these often complex and vexing clinical conditions. In the twenty-first century, the optimal management of spine tumor patients is sufficiently complex that the best results can only be achieved as a multidisciplinary team. One of the goals of this book is to provide a summary of the individual components of multidisciplinary spine tumor care. This book emphasizes the importance of a multidisciplinary team approach focused on coordinating a diverse group of specialists whose collective skills and expertise can be exercised on behalf of the patient in need.
