This chapter discusses issues of stance and style in writing an encyclopedia generally and in particular for the Encyclopedia of Computer Science. Topics include degree of similarity to other existing reference works, whether scope extends to biography and bibliography, issues of comprehensiveness and selectivity, and interconnectedness of parts of the encyclopedia.
