Designing a Digital Milk Price Stock Exchange to Reverse Albania’s Dairy Sector Decline
摘要
During the last five years Albania recorded a persistent reduction of milk production in its dairy sector leading to substantial economic obstacles for farmers and processor facilities and throughout the market. The research shows three main barriers based on a systematic review of literature, industry reports, and public datasets causing price disputes about raw milk production which include limited governmental involvement the poor technological capacity and insufficient information exchange between milk suppliers and milk processing facilities. Two digital models have been developed to solve these problems. This system includes a full information management framework which links farmers to processors and government agencies through one real-time platform to share data and establish fair pricing. A standalone digital system operates within individual milk processing factories to boost factory digitization yet has limited reach across the entire nation. This study advances a digital price exchange system for milk which develops a novel solution for enduring price disagreements and builds formal market structures and research-driven governmental decisions. The solutions presented will improve data sharing while enabling policymakers to direct subsidies and launch a “buy local” initiative which reduces dependence on imported products. The practical outcomes derived from these findings enhance transparency in the market and reduce uncertainties to stop the ongoing dairy sector decline in Albania.
