A Contemporary Business Model for Integrating Company Needs Through Education–Company Collaboration
摘要
In today’s fast-changing business environment, it is essential to examine future competence requirements for managers, as a gap remains between current educational frameworks and the realities of service business management. This paper presents a contemporary collaboration between business and higher education, aiming to develop a model that narrows the skills gap between managerial needs and academic training. The model is introduced through a case company project and outlines the main steps of a practical business collaboration. To address the identified gap, the study presents a platform-based concept focused on digital transformation in knowledge transfer. It highlights how business and education can align through emerging technologies and flexible business models. This collaborative approach emphasises digital co-creation and the use of virtual tools. The chapter introduces the Right Away Ready Deal project, developed by Laurea University of Applied Sciences (Laurea UAS). The initiative supports digital knowledge transfer within a platform model that integrates virtual learning and real-world collaboration. The project is implemented using Canvas as the learning environment, Zoom for communication, and Trello as a project management tool. This model exemplifies how digital tools can strengthen the connection between education and business, fostering future-ready managerial competencies.
