Sexual Violence, Dignity, and Contraception
摘要
Sexual violence is a prevalent human rights violation, the incidence of which is significantly rising in conflict zones. The issue of sexual violence is intricately linked with dignity and contraception. There could be no greater indignity than sexual violence itself. However, lack of dignified care and non-availability of contraception can further aggravate matters. Sexual violence has emotional, financial, and social implications, along with concerns about unwanted pregnancy. The needs and rights of vulnerable women must be protected. Healthcare workers can play a significant role in this regard and should be able to work in a multidisciplinary team setting to identify, support, and treat victims of sexual violence.
