Further, as this chapter will discuss, it is important to stay ahead of obvious developments in the world of cybersecurity and to recognize evolving technological trends associated with ransomware, malware, authentication, and encryption. That point also emphasizes the need for the reader to recognize and follow newly developed ISO/IEC standards, such that medical devices remain compliant with FDA, TÜV, TIPPSS, and HIPAA standards/regulations. And with new technologies being used to design medical devices, to interact in hospital environments, and to remotely diagnose/monitor patients, the reader will be made aware of tools such as extended reality (i.e., AR, VR, and MR), intra-body medical devices, cloud computing, AI, etc.
