The article considers the main features and suitability for solving the task of complex information security risk assessment of various risk management models based on hypergraphs or using hypergraphs to assess individual properties. The purpose of reviewing and comparing the models is to select a modeling tool for the task of multi-level risk assessment of a telecommunication system. The paper provides both an overview of the main models suitable for this task and their characteristics (the elements of the hypergraph approach used, the main estimated and applied in the models estimated system characteristics). The value of the study lies in the selection of useful properties of the models for the subsequent development of complex or hybrid models based on them for the assessment of various characteristics of information risk or a comprehensive indicator of information risk in the transmission of information in a telecommunications system. The obtained results can also be used in the analysis of information security incidents in telecommunication systems and applied (with appropriate refinement) in related areas, such as technological networks and corporate networks of organizations. The considered models can also be the basis for algorithms and protocols used in information protection tasks in the context of information risk assessment.
