Smart Cities Redefined: Technology-Driven Solutions for Urban Sustainability
摘要
As urbanization continues to grow and grow, and the challenges to the environment increase, the need for greening is indispensable, and advanced technologies impact the future of cities is paramount. In this chapter, we are going to play with the transformative potential of digital innovation in cities where the most advanced technologies, like urban analytics, cloud computing, and technical algorithms (like machine learning for predictive analytics or optimization algorithms for resource management), forces ahead the building of smart cities. Through using real-time information from IoT sensors and city dashboards, cities can run their energy efficiency in a more revolutionary way, slash carbon footprints, and run their operational proficiency into an even higher gear. Innovations in smart transportation systems, that is enabled by AI-based traffic management and autonomous vehicle networks, are transforming urban transportation challenges with reduced environmental impact. Sensors to sort and predictive analytics based on an advanced smart waste management system, which is taking waste to resources and creating circular economies. The chapter also discusses the part that smart industrial buildings and facilities, where smart and automated processes, and energy-efficient production take place, also reduce pollution and promote sustainable production. Moreover, growths of urban agriculture and green technology urban architecture, such as green roofs and vertical farming, as well as integration of renewable energy, are leading the development of a climate-resilient urban environment. At the heart of this transformation is the integration of community engagement platforms, to enable citizens to be very much engaged with urban governance, where there is more inclusivity and equity. With technical inventions, case characteristics, and data-driven methodologies, this segment offers an imaginative compass for wise towns that combine technological start, environment-centered datedness, and street-smart well-being, preparing people in a greener, smarter city to come by 2030.
