Support and Collaboration Networks Between Women Entrepreneurs, the Municipality of Heredia, and the Latin University of Costa Rica
摘要
This research presents a key initiative between three actors: first, a group of women entrepreneurs from Heredia; second, the Department of Tourism of the Municipality of Heredia; and third, academia, represented by the Universidad Latina de Costa Rica. The primary goal of the study is to promote economic empowerment and gender equality within the framework of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8, which aims to “promote decent work and economic growth.” These links seek to provide an enabling environment for the development of women-led ventures in the areas of hospitality, tourism, and gastronomy, facilitating access to resources, training, and financing. Collaboration between women entrepreneurs and local institutions, such as the Municipality of Heredia, creates spaces for exchange and learning, thus strengthening entrepreneurial skills and fostering creativity and innovation. The Universidad Latina de Costa Rica plays a fundamental role by offering training through workshops, fairs, and mentoring programs led by University Extension, where women entrepreneurs are provided with a series of tools to develop their learning within the framework of SDG 8. This collaborative approach not only favors the development of women-led businesses, but also stimulates the local economy, creates jobs, and promotes gender equality in the business world. By integrating different actors, a sustainable impact is achieved that contributes to the entire community, aligning with the goals of inclusive and sustainable development. A mixed methodology will be used, including a documentary analysis of the data shared by the Municipality of Heredia and, finally, participatory action research that will collaborate to analyze networks as a model of cooperation between the public sector, academia, and women entrepreneurs, thus innovating realities and establishing a more equitable and prosperous future for all.
