Dissimilar problems are solved in AI using similar techniques. What characteristics are in common between building a schedule and solving a Sudoku? In this chapter we describe how problems are solved using searchSearch mechanisms. Another key element in AI systems is knowledge, and knowledge representation. We discuss logics and uncertainty as key elements of embedding knowledge in an intelligent system. Concepts as vagueness, fuzzy sets, and knowledge graphs are also mentioned.
