Conclusion: Intergenerational Justice as Preservation of Opportunities
摘要
In this concluding chapter, we begin by summarizing the approach to intergenerational justice that we articulated in our first two chapters, and applied through the remainder of the book. We then turn to potential limitations our theory faces, including the 100-year time horizon restriction, the issue of perpetual constitutions, and justice for past generations. Accordingly, we complete this chapter with suggestions for further work that tackles these issues and one others: examining whether our Intergenerational Fair Equality of Opportunity might ever come into conflict with traditional Fair Equality of Opportunity.
