A pessary is a device that allows for nonsurgical treatment of pelvic organ prolapse (POP) and/or stress urinary incontinence (SUI). The pessary is a good option to treat these two problems for patients who are not surgical candidates or do not desire surgery and patients who have not completed childbearing. The pessary is made of inert plastic or silicone in many different styles. There are two main types of pessaries: space-filling and support.
