This paper explores the role of affordable and inclusive design principles applied to a concept of modular housing systems for low-income communities in Latin America. Focusing on self-construction and energy self-sufficiency, the study investigates how flexible building solutions can respond to the diverse needs of vulnerable families, while reducing environmental impact. By analyzing the potential of wooden components production for prefabricated modular wooden houses that are easy to build and to disassemble, the paper aims to address challenges related to affordability, adaptability, and energy self-sufficiency through simulation of energy demands and the integration of renewable energy systems.

摘要

This paper explores the role of affordable and inclusive design principles applied to a concept of modular housing systems for low-income communities in Latin America. Focusing on self-construction and energy self-sufficiency, the study investigates how flexible building solutions can respond to the diverse needs of vulnerable families, while reducing environmental impact. By analyzing the potential of wooden components production for prefabricated modular wooden houses that are easy to build and to disassemble, the paper aims to address challenges related to affordability, adaptability, and energy self-sufficiency through simulation of energy demands and the integration of renewable energy systems.
