In study, the results of a recent investigation related to wood and kinetic architecture. More precisely, a study was conducted on the bending technique known as kerfing, which allows commonly rigid materials such as wooden boards or panels to be bent for aesthetic purposes. The research involves an integrated parametric approach to evaluate the formal and functional aspects of the construction system. With reference to the structural aspects, a preliminary calibration procedure of simplified models is proposed. It’s based on homogenisation techniques of the mechanical properties, aimed at a first expeditious evaluation of the structural performance. Finally, the technology was applied to a case study with the aim of verifying its architectural functionality.

摘要
