In a society where the attention at the sustainability is one of the most urgent community objectives to be achieved, the Construction Sector, and Technical Architecture itself are called upon to actively contribute to the change. The urgency of reducing environmental impact requires constant updating on the latest physical and digital innovations that can be used to achieve the Global Goals. This contribution proposes a decisive key of interpretation, identifying the existing Building Heritage managed by Public Administrations as the largest group and, at the same time, with the best margin of improvement in terms of conversion into Green Buildings. In this context, the Building Information Modeling, or BIM’s method, is configured as an essential tool, demonstrating that it can optimize the design, construction, and management of buildings and infrastructure, with an increase in efficiency of 30%. Its application not only improves the quality of the building process but also contributes to a more sustainable and conscious management of the life cycle of buildings. The integration between these innovative technologies and environmental needs has given rise to the concept of Green BIM, which represents a unique and concrete approach to achieving global sustainability goals. By combining the power of BIM and the commitment to greener architecture, a viable path is created towards a more responsible and environmentally friendly future. This contribution, by a comprehensive review, aims to address the need/requirements to direct the activities, supported by EU programs, towards the green enhancement of existing Building Heritage with the BIM method.

摘要
