This chapter focuses on the cattle ceremony, locally known as Omaludi eengobe (Cattle ceremony), held annually in various communities of Aawambo, aimed at encouraging productivity among herders and cattle owners, respectively. It is an annual event organised by any headman, any prominent man, or by omukwaniilwa/ohamba at a tribal level. This chapter examines the significance of Omaludi eengobe among Aawambo of Namibia with specific reference to Omaludi eengobe in Etomba village of the Ohangwena Region, and to gauge the impact of Western culture on Omaludi eengobe. This is qualitative research, and the data for the chapter were collected through documentation as well as through interviews and observation methods, as the authors of this chapter participated in one of the shows held in the Etomba village. This chapter concludes that, despite the insignificant impact of modernisation, Omaludi eengobe has survived acculturation; thus, enculturation is reflected in Omaludi eengobe.
