Throughout this book, we have explored the main components of Natural Language Interface to Databases (NLIDB) systems, namely Text-to-SQL, SQL-to-Text, and Results-to-Text, examining each in isolation. In this final chapter, we discuss the challenges involved in combining these components into a unified system. Additionally, we highlight important challenges that arise when such systems are deployed in real-world scenarios. Finally, we outline additional research areas, whose incorporation could further enhance the functionality and impact of NLIDB systems.
