Story Through Time: Between Writers and Readers
摘要
A personal literary canon centers or stabilizes our adult life as we mature. This canon constitutes a lineage, a word used in the Buddhist sense of a line or inheritance of teachers that guides a student’s spiritual development, also referenced as posterity in Rocco Rubini’s work on Petrarch, as the writer may leave their work with the conscious or unconscious intention of current and future readers. Those readers carry the work into the future and foster a legacy that will allow its stories, teachings, style, and tone to grow into posterity.
