The aim of this paper is to provide a general overview of the position of women in the Spanish judicial system from a labour perspective. The theoretical framework taken as a starting point is the literature on gender and public administration and the conceptual development related to the supposed bureaucratic neutrality of organisations. The data analysed from official statistical sources, for the case of Spain and from a comparative perspective, show the occupational segregation suffered by women in the Administration of Justice despite the feminisation of legal studies.

摘要

The aim of this paper is to provide a general overview of the position of women in the Spanish judicial system from a labour perspective. The theoretical framework taken as a starting point is the literature on gender and public administration and the conceptual development related to the supposed bureaucratic neutrality of organisations. The data analysed from official statistical sources, for the case of Spain and from a comparative perspective, show the occupational segregation suffered by women in the Administration of Justice despite the feminisation of legal studies.
