Discrimination of Women Under Sharia Law and the Molla Sali Judgment of the ECHR
摘要
When the Molla Sali judgment of the European Court of Human Rights (Grand Chamber) was published, it did not end the application of Sharia law in Greece, nor did it end the operation of Sharia courts. What was stopped was the application of Sharia law by ordinary Greek civil courts. Therefore, discrimination against (Muslim) women has not ceased, since Sharia law, at least as applied in Greece, does not incorporate gender equality.
