The wise use of wetlands is currently a major concern in developing urban settlements. This is influenced by the lack of commitment to maintaining the existence of wetlands in urban areas. The emergence of these problems can impact long-term ecological and community sustainability, especially in urban areas. The lack of commitment to maintaining the existence of wetlands can be influenced by sociocultural factors (aspects of local wisdom support, government policies, and social changes that occur). Therefore, this study aims to determine the effects of local wisdom (cultural), government policies, and social changes that occur on the resilience of urban wetlands. This study used a qualitative design with a case study approach and was located in Baubau City, Southeast Sulawesi Province (Indonesia). As a result of research and discussion, the researcher found that the people of Baubau City still uphold their cultural values. The local government always strives to maintain community behavior so as not to disturb the existence of urban wetlands through various programs that support wetlands. The state of social change that has occurred is also very supportive of the existence of wetlands. This study concludes that support for local wisdom (culture), government policies, and social change is quite influential in efforts to maintain the resilience of urban wetlands. Recommendations from this study include the need to strengthen local wisdom-based urban wetland management, making environmentally friendly infrastructure development a top priority for the government, realizing wetlands-based economic development, and increasing commitment and collaboration from various parties.
