This chapter introduces Volume II: Applied Case Studies and Future Perspectives, the second volume in a collaborative two-volume series that bridges theory and practice in the evolving world of STEM credentialing. Building on the conceptual foundations established in Volume I, this volume highlights how programs, institutions, and initiatives are translating vision into reality. Developed through a partnership between two authors serving as editors with complementary yet distinct perspectives, the collection reflects a shared commitment to equity, innovation, and systems change. The chapter articulates the timeliness of this work amid shifting educational, economic, and technological landscapes. It reaffirms five editorial commitments: highlight diverse examples and actionable strategies, offer a roadmap for continued evolution, unify a fragmented landscape, center theory-informed approaches, and ensure transferability and relevance. By previewing the case studies, which are organized around educator development, institutional design, disciplinary strategies, and future directions, this chapter invites readers to explore how microcredentials function in real-world settings and how local innovations can drive large-scale transformation.

摘要
