In 2021, the University of Texas System launched Texas Credentials for the Future to align educational programming with the needs of Texas employers and provide our graduates with enhanced documented skillsets and credentials that will showcase competitive advantages for future job opportunities. Through the University of Texas System’s (UT System) support and partnerships with several industry leaders, each participating university was encouraged to develop its own microcredential ecosystem that fit the context of the individual campus. This chapter discusses the development of microcredential pathways at the UT System and campus levels, illustrates implementation examples, presents productive challenges we have encountered, and outlines key themes we have identified with implications for science, technology, engineering, and math, or STEM, disciplines.

摘要
