Infrared heaters are systems that have not been widely used in the building sector in the past. However, with the EU’s target of decarbonizing the building sector, IR heating systems can represent an interesting technical solution option as a hybrid system in combination with heat pumps. The water-based heating system is used as the basic system and the IR heating system covers the peak load. The following publication presents the results of several studies on this topic and shows the advantages and disadvantages of IR heating.
