The past few years have introduced a shift towards more digital experiences in our daily lives. What was once seen as the domain of “techies” has become a part of the fabric of our daily lives. We now have the convenience of ordering food and groceries online and streaming our favourite shows and movies instantly. This shift towards digital experiences has also led to an increased awareness of the importance of User Experience (UX) design. As digital products become more integral to our lives, businesses are recognising the significance of how customers interact with their products. They understand that a positive user experience is crucial for attracting and retaining customers. As companies search for ways to engage and retain customers, Disneyland offers valuable guidance. Some UX professionals have even argued that Walt Disney’s attention to detail and focus on guest satisfaction makes him one of the pioneers of UX design. This chapter explores how Disney’s people-centred approach, referred to as “The Disney Way,” creates exceptional guest experiences and how these same principles can guide the development of digital products. Disney’s dedication to guest enjoyment is at the centre of this discussion. We delve into how storyboards, and early Disney innovation, contribute to modern UX processes, as well as how his early use of data helped Imagineers to develop time-honoured design principles to create enjoyable experiences. Furthermore, we apply these principles to the process of developing digital products, emphasising the crucial role of meeting user needs in creating engaging experiences for everyone.

摘要
