This chapter explores the ongoing global transition to a multipolar order, driven not by the decline of U.S. power but by the rise of new global and regional actors. While the U.S. retains dominance through the dollar and global institutions, China has emerged as a formidable economic and technological rival. The balance of power is increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence, energy security, giant techs, and the growing influence of middle powers such as the Gulf states, India, and Russia. In the Middle East, three transnational threats, drug trafficking, extremism, and environmental degradation, pose significant risks. Addressing these challenges requires anti-corruption efforts and the rise of capable, ethical leadership to enable a stable and peaceful transition in the region. Therefore, as power shifts and new poles emerge, the United States remains a formidable force, navigating a world where middle powers, non-state actors, tech giants, and emerging powers like China compete for influence.
