Digital forensics is a key area of cybercrime and crime investigation with digital evidence. Due to the rapid expansion of digital devices and use of the internet, forensic processes have evolved to address data collection, analysis, and admissibility in the court of law. This essay outlines some of the significant digital forensics categories like hard disk forensics, memory forensics, and network forensics, and how they are vital in cybercrime investigations. The research also analyzes the formal forensic investigation process, technical concerns, legal limits, and the necessity of standardized procedures. The use of computers in forensic investigations and the influence of forensic tools on evidence gathering are also discussed. As cyber threats continue to change, extending forensic processes, integrating artificial intelligence, and international legal collaboration are required to improve digital investigations. This research emphasizes the necessity of digital forensics in the provision of cybersecurity, supporting law enforcement, and maintaining justice in the digital world.
