This study introduces a new open-source Python tool, named SGHeatAOI, that supports the automatic delineation and ranking of areas of interest (AOIs) utilizing aggregated eye tracking data. The introduced tool has a complete Graphical User Interface (GUI) and its function is mainly based on the implementation of a Gaussian filter which is used for the generation of a Statistical Grayscale Heatmap (SGH). Furthermore, the tool facilitates the computation of statistical indices that describe each produced AOI within the examined visual stimuli. Additionally, in the framework of this work, a real-world execution scenario is demonstrated using a public eye tracking dataset from the field of map perception and complexity.

摘要
