The Convergence of Hybrid Imaging and Artificial Intelligence in Oncology

The landscape of oncologic imaging has undergone a profound transformation through the integration of hybrid imaging technologies and artificial intelligence (AI). This review explores the synergistic convergence of modalities such as PET/CT and PET/MRI with AI-powered tools for image analysis, segmentation, and biomarker extraction. The study highlights how these advancements enhance diagnostic accuracy, personalize treatment planning, and streamline clinical workflows, ultimately improving patient outcomes. Emphasizing authors’ perspective to national contributions, the article details Poland’s efforts in AI implementation, digital infrastructure, and international research collaborations. The findings underscore a global shift toward intelligent, personalized oncology driven by technological convergence, while also acknowledging persistent challenges in standardization, training, and access equity.
