Optimizing Heuristics: Parameter Tuning for Performance
摘要
This research investigates the ways of parameter tuning on the performance of heuristics, specifically in the context of the retail shelf space allocation problem. The objective is to maximize profit from products allocated on retail shelves by utilizing a novel flower-cutting heuristic. The study explores the methods of different parameter configurations to steer the effectiveness of the heuristic in optimizing shelf space utilization. The findings provide insights into the critical role of parameter tuning in enhancing heuristic performance for real-world applications.
