We are on the brink of a whole new world where human intelligence (HI) and artificial intelligence (AI) will likely be collaborative in the true sense of collaboration—not in the master-servant relationship between humans and AI that has existed thus far. With the inception of Industry 5.0 in the European Union, society asks people and robots to work collaboratively for its benefit. The evolution of ChatGPT and other generative AI (Gen AI) has expedited these collaborations, which ideally will enhance and empower human and HI capabilities. However, humans are apprehensive about the unknown, the rapid pace of AI advancement, and their ability to manage this swift growth. Moreover, we must consider the evolving understanding of the relationship between humans and other life forms. This chapter explores some aspects of HI and AI collaboration. It draws on change management, creative performance, and the societal expectations of humans as AI progresses and prevails in the business world.
