In Chap. 8 , we examine the relationship between The Antichrist and the planned fourth volume of the Revaluation of All Values, entitled Dionysos philosophos, meant to discuss more affirmative themes, such as Dionysos, tragedy and the idea of eternal recurrence. The Antichrist contains several fairly explicit references to this volume. In the chapter, I translate and list many of Nietzsche’s own summaries of these affirmative themes for the planned Dionysos philosophos. One way to view the complete four-volume Revaluation of All Values is to see it as an attempt to heal nihilism. This chapter ends with a discussion of the several ways Nietzsche suggests how to counter nihilism.
