In Chap. 6 , we examine the relationship between The Antichrist and the planned second volume of the Revaluation of All Values, entitled The Free Spirit, about epistemology (truth and knowledge) and nihilism. We discover that there are no explicit references to the planned second volume in The Antichrist, but some vague pointers, such as references to free spirits and emancipated spirits. Nietzsche mentions problems concerning epistemology and nihilism in The Antichrist, but does not elaborate on them. By examining planned chapter titles and notes for The Free Spirit, we observe that he planned to discuss these themes, and in part how he intended to do it, in this second volume.
